Let’s Play!

The Ulster Orchestra is ready to play and its exciting new Season of concerts is on sale now! This season sees the core subscription series increase to 16 concerts, a series of Pops concerts in Belfast Waterfront and the introduction of a brand new Festive mini-series, along with the return of the 9-concert JTI Lunchtime Series – and that’s just in Belfast. As well as this the Orchestra will be performing ‘On Your Doorstep’ in communities throughout the region, all year long. There’s something for everyone!

Ulster Orchestra and Music at Queen’s Launch Partnership

We are delighted to announce the formation of a new creative partnership between the Ulster Orchestra and Music in Queen's University, Belfast. This residency is inaugurated to coincide with the Ulster Orchestra 50th Anniversary Season in 2016-17, and it heralds a range of creative support and collaboration between two bodies that enjoy historic connections in teaching, composition and concert work. Applications Now Open for BBC Proms in the Park 2016

BBC Proms in the Park returns to the Titanic Slipways in Belfast, on Saturday, 10, September 2016 – giving local audiences the opportunity to join in the music-making spectacular that is the Last Night of the Proms. This event, which is now in its 15th year, will bring together some internationally acclaimed performers from home and around the world. Change of Conductor for 22/23 April

We would like to announce a change of conductor for our concerts on 22 and 23 April, Let Love Spring Forth! (Ulster Hall) and The Ulster Orchestra in Love and Literature (Ardhowen Theatre, Enniskillen). We are delighted to inform you that Chief Conductor Rafael Payare and his wife, cellist Alisa Weilerstein, have had their first child and Rafael is therefore spending time with Alisa and their new arrival. Our replacement for the evening is Assistant Conductor at the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Alpesh Chauhan.
