Support a Chair
Establish a closer connection to the Ulster Orchestra and its musicians through the annual support of an orchestral chair. Chair Sponsorship is open to individuals, families and businesses and is the perfect way to acknowledge a milestone, a special anniversary, a retirement or the memory of a loved one. For organisations wishing to invest in this opportunity, in addition to PR benefits, there is also a corporate package specifically for networking and client development. Our Chair Sponsorship programme enables individuals, families and companies to have a closer connection to the Orchestra and gives you the opportunity to be associated with one of our players and link your name or company with a position in the Orchestra.
Tutti Players (Strings only), from £1,000 per annum
Principals and Sub-Principals, from £1,500 per annum
Section Leaders, from £2,000 per annum
In recognition of you gift, the Ulster Orchestra offers you the following:
- Credited in Ulster Orchestra programmes*
- Annual Chair Sponsor Reception
- Empty Chairs initiative – the opportunity to sit beside your sponsored chair during a short rehearsal
- Photograph of you and your chosen player**
There are also opportunities to support other artistic positions in the Ulster Orchestra, including the Chief Conductor and the Orchestra Leader, and we are happy to discuss these on an individual basis. This will lead to benefits such as a drinks reception or dinner with the Chief Conductor or Orchestra Leader, depending on the level of sponsorship.
For details of those positions currently sponsored, please see our latest concert programme or contact the Fundraising Team.
*Can be in memoriam / or dedication message rather than sponsor’s name or it can be bought as a gift
**To be taken at annual reception or Empty Chairs initiative
I have always been proud of the Ulster Orchestra and wanted to do more than just attend concerts and make a donation as a Patron and ‘Friend of the Orchestra’. We wanted greater involvement and by becoming a Chair Supporter we feel we have a personal connection to Paul Klein (French horn), whose Chair we support, and through him to the players in his section. 'Friend' has taken on new meaning. Being a Supporter is a most rewarding experience and we delight in the achievements of the Orchestra wherever they play and admire their work throughout the community. We look forward to an ever closer relationship in the years ahead and to sharing in the UO’s continued success.

We chose to sponsor a chair because the personal connection gives us a feeling of involvement with the orchestra. We always enjoy a concert just that little bit more if Jennifer is playing!
