Ulster Hall - Belfast

Ravel - Le Tombeau de Couperin
Thomas Adès - Three Studies from Couperin
Prokofiev - Symphony No.1 Classical
Three very different composers, three very different pieces, but all inspired by music of the Baroque and Classical era. Ravel and Adès both take their inspiration from the great 18th century harpsichordist and composer François Couperin, while Prokofiev’s First Symphony was written after lengthy, detailed study of Haydn’s compositional technique. Haydn and Couperin would approve!
