Erwin Schulhoff Symphony No. 2
George Gershwin Rhapsody In Blue
Julian Joseph Movements from Nine Elms Suite
Leonard Bernstein Fancy Free
Ryan McAdams Conductor
Julian Joseph Piano
Julian Joseph is, quite simply, one of the leading British jazz pianists performing today and his interpretation of Gershwinโs classic Rhapsody in Blue promises a hugely exciting evening.
Julian will also perform movements from his own Nine Elms Suite, an emotive musical response to the Nine Elms area of London. We close with Bernsteinโs explosive music for the ballet Fancy Free, which places us firmly in downtown New York in 1944, with all its influences of stride, swing and boogie-woogie.
Join us at 7pm in the main auditorium of the Ulster Hall to join our Artistic Director Patrick McCarthy and pianist Julian Joseph for a pre-concert talk.
