Bernstein’s Three Dance Episodes from On The Town start a riotous orchestral celebration that continues with Joe Chindamo’s new work, Ligeia. Peter Moore takes on a no-holds-barred virtuoso showcase of all the trombone’s sonorities, from its melodic tenderness to its capacity to bend, growl and swing as if on-stage at Ronnie Scott’s or Birdland – it’s the party you won’t want to miss! We also plunge into the romantic melodies and vivid orchestral colours of Rachmaninoff’s symphonies this Season, starting with the darkly fiery Symphony No.1.
