The Ulster Orchestra is delighted to return to Ballycastle’s Lir Festival for another lovely evening of music. Ulster Orchestra Leader Ioana Petcu-Colan will lead orchestra players in a programme that ranges from the elegant poise of Purcell’s Trumpet Overture for The Indian Queen to Caroline Shaw’s playful, atmospheric Entr’acte. And orchestra members Emily Cockbill and Stephen Murphy take centre stage as soloists for Aaron Copland’s Quiet City, where the solo trumpet and Cor Anglais paint a beautiful and evocative picture of anxiety and loneliness in the city.

This event is part of the Lir Festival and part of your ticket price supports Ulster Orchestra-run workshops for schools in Ballycastle.
